NIB in Norway
NIB has been operating in Norway since 1977, providing approximately EUR 13.4 billion (NOK 157.6 billion) in financing to more than 380 projects in the country.
Norway founded NIB together with the other Nordic countries in 1975. Some of NIB’s latest financed projects in the country include new electric ferry line connections, increasing hydropower capacity and a sustainability-linked loan to Borregaard.
In recent years, NIB has financed electricity distribution and transmission networks, transportation electrification, and renewable energy generation in Norway. We have also contributed to hydropower and wind power projects as well as numerous sustainable real estate developments.
Looking ahead, NIB aims to continue to support and accelerate the green transition.
