What is the YPP

NIB’s Young Professional Program (YPP) is a 2-year initiative designed for recent university graduates. Participants work in Associate-level roles within key business units including Lending, Treasury & Finance, Sustainability & Mandate, and Risk & Compliance, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to NIB’s mission of sustainable development. 

The programme offers internal job rotations, mentoring, and professional development opportunities, empowering young professionals to grow while actively contributing to NIB’s mission of sustainable finance.

What you’ll experience

  • Working in an international financial institution (IFI) and contributing to impactful projects aligned with NIB’s sustainable finance agenda

  • Work in key areas: Lending, Treasury & Finance, Sustainability & Mandate, Risk & Compliance 

  • Opportunities for internal job rotations: Broaden your perspective and expertise by working and collaborating with various departments throughout the program. This multidisciplinary approach will give you a comprehensive understanding of our operations and enhance your skill set. 

  • Professional Growth: Professional development is supported through challenging projects, mentoring and opportunities for role related trainings. 

  • You will work with diverse expert teams, developing your expertise in the field, and expanding your access to future career prospects within the global IFI community and other organisations. 

  • We offer a competitive remuneration package and we will also support you with certain aspects of relocation to Helsinki.

  • Working at an international and dynamic workplace in the heart of Helsinki, a lively Nordic capital with a modern atmosphere, with a possibility of combining office life and remote work.   

Who can apply?

  • You are a recent graduate or about to graduate (before the start date of the Programme September 2025) 

  • You have a master’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Law, or Environmental Sciences (or any other field where you can demonstrate applicability to sustainable finance). 

  • You are a national of one of our member countries (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, or Sweden) 

  • You have less than two years of post-academic work experience 

  • Written and spoken proficiency in English language

Recruitment timeline
