NIB financing advances Terveystalo’s investments in further digitalisation of healthcare services
The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and Terveystalo Healthcare Holding Oy have agreed on a EUR 50 million loan for financing Terveystalo’s investments in its digital healthcare services, including the development of applications, systems and platforms. These investments will improve Terveystalo’s customer and employee experience and strengthen the company’s market position.
The seven-year loan finances Terveystalo’s investments in the company’s digital development over 2022-2025. Terveystalo has positioned itself at the forefront of the digital transformation of the healthcare sector, and the planned investments include further development of leading digital capabilities and services, covering applications for customers, corporations, public healthcare as well as medical professionals. In addition, Terveystalo plans to continue the development of a modern digital operating ecosystem and the productization of their digital platform.
In recent years, Terveystalo has made significant investments particularly in digitalisation and customer experience as well as clinical and operational quality. These investments have resulted in Terveystalo developing one of the industry-leading digital platforms in Finland. The company’s digital platform offers 24/7 digital healthcare services, improving customers’ access to healthcare as well as the overall productivity of the company. In addition, artificial intelligence supported data-driven tools, science-first software development and other new digital services add value to Terveystalo’s customers and employees as well as to the entire healthcare markets.
“The past two years have underlined the need to accelerate the digitalisation of healthcare and the development of related technology. By strengthening their digital services and heavily investing in the development of cutting-edge digital applications and platforms, Terveystalo positions itself at the forefront of the digital transformation of the healthcare sector,” says André Küüsvek, NIB President & CEO.
“With digitalisation, we can solve the most significant sustainability challenges in healthcare. More efficient use of health data, better care management and the use of digital appointments can improve productivity, access to care as well as job satisfaction within healthcare. Our goal is to address the chronic shortage of professionals in healthcare by finding ways to scale medical expertise. With NIB’s funding, we will further accelerate our digital development work,” says Ville Iho, CEO of Terveystalo.
