Green mobility: From Slow Lane to Fast Lane
Role of finance in the transition of the transport sector

Transport is considered a “slow lane” sector because it is challenging to decarbonise. Nevertheless, it is vital for a holistic shift to sustainability. How do we move this important sector from the slow lane to the fast lane?

Joining forces with institutions like the African Development Bank Group, EBRD, The World Bank, Islamic Development Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, Caribbean Development Bank, and Asian Development Bank, NIB is proud to share its strategies and initiatives for tackling climate change.

NIB at Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action

The Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action held its Ministerial Meeting during the Finance Day at COP28 to discuss strategies for integrating renewable energy sources and shaping financial policies to support large-scale climate investments.

NIB President and CEO André Küüsvek attended the meeting as an observer. Watch his video statement.

In 2021, NIB became an institutional partner of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action, bolstering the coalition’s efforts to develop and execute climate-focused policies.
