Fulfilment of NIB's mandate
Productivity:
The building will be located next to the New Karolinska University Hospital, with access to leading healthcare providers, academia, for example, the Karolinska Institutet medical university, and already established medical technology and pharmaceutical companies. Future tenants will benefit from the location enabling collaboration between academia, research, and business. The building will be located with close proximity to the new subway, which will be completed in 2025.
The project supports the city of Stockholm’s aim to increase collaboration between academia, industry and society. The development of business clusters will strengthen the Swedish capital’s image as an attractive place for research and entrepreneurship as well as improve the city’s competitiveness in the area of life science.
Environment:
Forskaren will aim for Platinum status under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification system. LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world, which takes into account such parameters as transportation, water and waste management, pollution, innovation, ecology and sustainable site development.
Sustainability summary
The project will be in compliance with NIB’s Sustainability Policy and Guidelines once the building permit has been issued.
