Project
The loan has been granted to finance the construction of a new wellness centre in Kauhava, Western Finland.
The new building will centralize social and health care services currently operating in 14 different locations under one roof. The centralization will improve operational efficiency and service quality as well as lead to cost savings.
The construction is scheduled to be completed in August 2022. Total project costs amount to approximately EUR 18 million.
Kauhavan Hyvinvointikeskus Oy is a limited company fully owned by the municipality. It was founded in 2019 to build, own and maintain the new wellness centre. Kauhava is a municipality of around 16,000 inhabitants located in Southern Ostrobothnia, Western Finland.
Fulfilment of NIB's mandate
The investment is one of the largest for the municipality in recent decades. It will centralize most of the social and health care services operations in one building, reducing health care costs, increasing operational efficiency and improving the quality of services.
The demand for social and health care services in the region is estimated to increase significantly in the coming years. The investment therefore should alleviate financial and healthcare challenges.
