Project
The loan totalling SEK 500 million is aimed at financing Husqvarna’s activities in research and development. Continuous product development is of great significance for Husqvarna’s competitiveness. The company’s R&D focuses on improving the functional capabilities of the products, their ergonomics, design, safety, and user-friendliness as well as minimising their impact on the environment. Husqvarna is the world’s leading producer of chainsaws, lawnmowers and other petrol-powered garden equipment, as well as a major producer of garden tractors and cutting equipment for the construction industry.
Sustainability summary
Husqvarna’s R&D activities have some positive environmental impacts. The increase of performance, reduction of environmentally hazardous exhaustions and recycling of products are important areas of Husqvarna’s R&D. A 25% share of the project qualifies as an environmental investment.
